On my walk to uni I was thinking about a conversation I was having this morning about pet names, is anything acceptable these days?
This is the conclusion I came to:
Any pet name is okay with me as long as it is used ironically (ie. babycakes)
Pet names that are actually insults are always fine as long as the other person knows the term is being used affectionately (ie. shitface)

I might not have finished my chapter, but I’ve managed to make myself feel as though I’ve achieved something today just by putting a bunch of file dividers into my filing cabinet. Now, all of the files that will fill the filing cabinet are still strewn across my desk, but it’s a little victory nonetheless.
