One Direction fans have taken an offhand comment by one of the members that he might have had a dead twin in utero and made a fandom surrounding said hypothetical ‘dead twin’.

I did a focus group with some 14-year-olds and there was a ‘directioner’ in the group that was trying to explain everything to me. It really is quite incredible.
